See our Visitor Map for trail details, viewpoints and more. The main loop around Fernhill Lake is 1.1 miles, trails are paved near the parking lot, restroom and shelter. Please leave bikes in the racks, and be mindful not to disturb bird watchers and photographers.

Driving Directions

Address: 1399 SW Fern Hill Road, Forest Grove, OR 97116

From Highway 26 West, take exit 57, turn left onto NW Glencoe Road. At the traffic circle, take the first exit onto NW Zion Church Road. Continue on NW Cornelius Schefflin Road for 1.6 miles. At the traffic circle, take the first exit onto NW Verboort Road. At the next traffic circle, take the second exit onto NW Martin Road. In 1.9 miles, turn left onto Highway 47. Turn left onto SW Fern Hill Road and continue a quarter mile to the parking lot on the left.

From Forest Grove, take Highway 47 south. Turn left onto Fern Hill Road and continue a quarter mile to the parking lot on the left.

Transit directions

Ride TriMet's Frequent Service bus line 57 to Pacific Hwy and Maple; walk or bike about a mile south on Maple St, which becomes Fern Hill Road when it crosses TV Hwy. There are sidewalks most of the way. 

Amenities

The parking lot, trails, picnic shelter, and restroom (with a drinking fountain and potable water tap) are open to the public from dawn to dusk. The picnic shelter is available on a first-come, first-served basis, reservations are not accepted. Occasionally, the shelter is reserved for education events. Picnic shelter and tables are ADA accessible. 

The Visitor Station is open by appointment for classes and groups, please contact us to schedule a visit.
